The alphabet of inhabitants (persons) of a city for a year The document of the administrative account of inhabitants of each part of a city. It was conducted in the form of the book by private police officers. Consisted of four parts. In the first data on persons "it is forbidden to them to live in both capitals" were brought: a surname, a name, a patronymic (these data repeated and in other parts of the alphabet), a class accessory, a rank, a rank, citizenship. The alphabetic list of students (the nominal sheet about pupils (pupils) The document of the account of department of the national education, made at universities, institutes, lycées on branches, classes, courses. In it the data was informed: the surname, a name, age, creed, a class accessory and data on a family, receipt time, a residence where got preparatory education, data on progress where has arrived studies, on what maintenance.
Lists about the pupils who have ended a course on years, months were made, and sent to educational districts. About 50th the column has been brought in the sheet about a nationality of students of a foreign extraction. To 60th of XIX century these lists had the name "nominal sheets about pupils (pupils)". Since 1874 of a surname of students took places alphabetically within faculty and a semestre. In 80th in the given document following data were added: marks about grants, grants and clearing of payment for the doctrine.

The information structure could be more reduced: a surname, a name, a patronymic, an origin, a subject of a course, a mark, date of delivery of the document on formation. The certificate office (appraisal sheet) The document reflecting office relations of the person and forming the basis for its rewarding, increase, fall and dismissal from service. Contains the information: a surname, a name, a patronymic, age, creed, a nationality (sometimes), the marital status, relationship degree (not always), estate, possession of the earth, the real estate, formation, a service place, a post, a rank, awards, instructions on a previous conviction, an estimation of character and abilities.

Marriage search (premarriage licence) The written certificate made причтом of church before wedding for the purpose of an establishment of absence of relationship at marrying. These documents, as a rule, gathered in affairs of parish churches under the name "marriage documents". However in practice of small parish churches it is quite often possible to meet marriage documents in обыскных books. In the big city arrivals marriage обыскные books and books of marriage documents were conducted separately.  
Marriage documents Documents of the account of a civil status of the population. The sheet about the foreigners accepted Russian citizenship and excluded from citizenship of Russia The document of the administrative account of foreigners. It was made annually, data were brought by by the month provincial boards, reduced for a year and were represented annually in Own е. And. Century office. Contained the data: a surname, a name, a patronymic, the marital status, data on children (their names), a rank, a service place when has arrived to Russia as what it is ranked to estate.  
The establishment sheet about officials The document of the administrative account of officials. The sheet about the higher and average link of officials was the basic document of census of establishments of Russia spent to 1754-1756 under the decree of empress Elizabeth Petrovny, whose posts have been listed in Tables of ranks. Residence permit The document of the police account of the population. In 1894г. Position about residence permits was accepted. This document existed along with passports and stood out in places постояннного residing to the head of the family, on a country court yard. Contains the information: a surname, a name, a patronymic, a date of birth, creed, a nationality, a residence, the marital status, data on children and other relatives, formation, a service place, a rank, a post, possession of the earth and the real estate. The entrance certificate The document of the account of pupils department of national education. Contains the following information: a surname, a name, a patronymic, training time in an educational institution, a class accessory and data on a family, the creed, the appropriated qualification (speciality), date of delivery of the diploma. Duplicates of these documents were stored in educational institutions in books of the account of delivery of diplomas about formation. The house certificate on property section The document fixing property relations of a family. This document was widely adopted XIX - XX centuries in all estates. In it were specified: a surname, a name, a patronymic, a residence, the marital status, data on relatives, estate, possession of the earth and the real estate.
The house register The document of the administrative account of the population of cities XVIII - the beginnings of XX centuries It was made in each of police parts of a city by private police officers. Record about a christening / a birth The document of the account of a civil status of the population. Births and christenings of children were fixed in the first part of registers of births by one record, i.e. It testified about двуз different events: 1) about natural event of a birth and 2) about church fulfilment of sacrament of a christening. At orthodox birthdays and christenings (twins registered one record), a rank, estate, a name and confession of parents, a name, a rank and estate восприемников were marked. The set of data at representatives of other confessions was less: at Moslems time of a birth and names of parents was specified only.
At entering into the register of births of record of a christening of the foundling which parents are not found out, or in general illegitimate children, whose mothers for any reasons concealed the name and a rank, in metric record all the same filled out a name крещенного, time and the birthplace, the certificate of an obstetrical institution, data from police or a testimony. In the column about parents wrote: "parents are unknown".

Records about born old believe communities for a year (books) The document of the police account and the account of a civil status of Old Believers. In 1844 полицмейстерам it was specified to get books (like metric) in old believe churches and to give out birth certificates and death. Record about marriage / wedding The document of the account of a civil status of the population. Joined in the second part of registers of births. The maintenance of records depended on confession. At orthodox record about marriage included: surnames, names, patronymics of the groom and the bride, their parents, age marrying, time of fulfilment of marriage who made it, were specified also witnesses and guarantors who at will could sign the certificate. At Moslems in record names of spouses, parents and witnesses, marriage and treaty provision time between parents were specified only.

Record about died / the buried The document of the account of a civil status of the population. Records about the died and buried were brought in the third part of registers of births: 1) one after another, separately for men and women; 2) exact date of death and burial; 3) a residence, estate, a surname, a name, a patronymic died (for babies and juvenile the father was specified, in the absence of the father - mother); 4) age died (separately for men and women); 5) a cause of death; 6) a name of the priest who has made a ceremony of burial and instructions of a place of burial.  
The statement for an addition to an invocatory site The document of the military account of the population. It was made by the recruit or from his name. Contains the following information: a surname, a name, a patronymic, a residence, the marital status, data on wedding, data on relatives, estate. The statement for financial claims The document fixing property relations of persons in the course of inheritance. All questions connected with inheritance, were documented: the statement for financial claims with the appendix of the scheme of inheritance; calculation about structure and value of hereditary property; the certificate on the statement of the rights to the inheritance. Ispovednaja list (sheet) The document of the church account of the population. The first instruction about conducting исповедных lists (sheets) concerns 1697 their Form was originally most simple: everyone причт has been obliged to conduct at itself(himself) three nominal lists: in the first, all parishioners who were at a confession were brought in the second - not were, in the third - dissenters. The form исповедных the lists, remained till the end of their existence almost invariable, was defined by the decree of 1737 Primary time of a confession there was a Lent. That who had not time to confess during the Lent, it was authorised to make it during any other time. As a rule, it were: Petrov a post (on June, 15th - on July, 11th), the Uspensky post (14 - on August, 27th), Christmas (Phillips) a post (on November, 28th - on January, 6th).
The data card исповедных lists was the following: in the first column the serial number of houses or court yard, in the second - number in them people, separately men and women was designated. If the family was full the surname registered once for all members more often; for spouses the name and a patronymic, and for children only a name was filled out. If one of spouses has already died, concerning survived the widowhood (it allowed to check the fact of death in the absence of record in the register of births) was shown, separately for men and women the quantity of years for the given year of each member of a family further was shown. In lists brought names of all children is more senior year, but thus in the column about a confession the priest put a crossed out section.
The ispovednuju list was signed by the prior of a temple and weigh it причт. Officially исповедные lists have stopped the existence in 1917, but on occasion in funds of churches, spiritual boards, diocesan managements and spiritual consistories have remained исповедные lists for later period.

Class magazine The document of the account of pupils of department of national education. Were conducted in classes of grammar schools, schools etc. Contains data: a surname, a name, a patronymic, the pupil, data on his parents, a residence, a mark. The klirovaja sheet The document on service of persons of spiritual estate. This document was called still lists to persons of spiritual department, track records of clergy and under the law was considered as the certificate certifying a condition of persons of a ministry. For the first time they have been entered into 1769 under the name of nominal lists to all persons of a ministry of orthodox confession. The form клировых sheets has been established in 1829, and in 1876 has been added by the column about own property possession of the ecclesiastic, and also his parents and the wife. The settlement book The book of the administrative account of immigrants. It was conducted in the establishments responsible for the account of immigrants. Record about the immigrant contains the information: a surname, a name, a patronymic of the immigrant, age, the birthplace, a residence, data on children, parents and other relatives. The book of delivery of the certificate on burial The document on which basis was authorised burial died. Private police officers conducted these documents in which were short specified: date of death died, its surname, a name, a patronymic, age, estate, a death place, the marital status and a burial place.  
The book for recording of dissenters of all sects and скопцов, living in a city (annual) The document of the administrative account of dissenters. Record had the following data card: the surname, a name, a patronymic, a rank, names and patronymics of members of a family, age, to what sect belongs, in whose house lives, where and when has left who in family was born who has left in family and who has arrived if has died on what cemetery it is buried. The book of record of the died The document of the account of a civil status. The facts of death of citizens of Russia were registered in III part of registers of births or in separate books at Jews and Moslems, and in regimental churches this duty has been assigned to regimental priests. Except registers of births, books of record of the died were conducted in hospitals, maternity shelters and educational houses and contained the same data, as records about died in registers of births. The book about section of peasants The document fixing property relations of a family. It was made in volost board on the basis of petitions of the country families, wishing to be divided. Contains data: surnames, names, patronymics of members of the divided families, surnames, names of their wives, children and other relatives, instructions on a residence, the property description between the divided families. The book of registration of the born and died state peasants The document of the account of a civil status and the class account. In this book was two columns: in the column "was born" the name and a surname of the father and a name of the child were filled out, and in the column "has died" - a surname, a name, a patronymic died. Кондуит the pupil The document of the account of pupils of department of national education. It was got on each pupil at definition in an educational institution. While translating in other educational institutions the extract from кондуита was sent to these educational institutions and postponed in the private affair of the pupil. In 1902 of an extract from кондуитов were handed out at receipt in higher educational institutions. In 1906 this order has been excellent. Contains the information: a surname, a name, a patronymic of the pupil, a class accessory, creed, receipt date in an educational institution, successes in study, remarks, a place of residing, data on material maintenance (receives the grant, lives on parents). Sheet of magazine of board of a credit society The document of property character which was a legal basis at pledge of property. This document, along with the information on put property, its character, volume, a site gives the detailed information on the person and its related communications, especially if it is the woman. The private affair of the pupil The document of the account of pupils of department of national education. It was got on each pupil at definition in an educational institution. In it documents contained: an extract from the birth certificate, applications, an extract from the house register, documents on formation, послужные (official) lists of parents (sometimes), etc. Regional archives: funds of educational institutions.
The personal has put the official The document of the departmental account which were conducted by the structural part of establishment knowing staff. In XVIII century and first half XIX century private affairs were made out on the same official at all office changes: appointment to the post, moving after service, delivery of grants, appointment of pensions etc. Since 1858 one private affair about service of the official began to be conducted from the moment of its appointment before retirement or death.
Private affairs, as a rule, contained the application on reception on service, metric выпись, the document on an origin, the certificate or the diploma on formation, the certificate on the introduction into marriage and other documents on which basis it was made full official (послужной) the list. During service private affairs replenished with short official lists about representation to ranks and awards, sometimes and full official lists in connection with appointment or election to a new post, copies of decrees or orders of the tsar, Senate decrees, certificates about пожаловании nobility or honourable citizenship on a rank or an award, certificates about service, applications on holidays, pensions, grants, and from second half XIX century - personal passports (in most cases foreign), metric records on children, inquiries of police stations or town governors on reliability, certificates on an addition to an induction station and other documents.
In separate establishments, except private affairs on each official, group private affairs (for example, in the Ministry of national education which were got on persons of the same office position - professors, privat-senior lecturers and others on the same question - about foreign business trips, pensions, grants etc.) were conducted. Official lists, office characteristics are stored In these affairs.

The mezhevaja book (межевой the plan) The document, the property character, giving the detailed information on the sizes and borders of ground possession. In documents, along with transfer of landed properties and land owners, the detailed description межевых the signs separating from each other settlements, villages and heathlands was given. As owners members of a family are listed, maiden names of women-zemlevladelits if owners lived in other settlement their residence, and also ranks, titles, posts and ranks was specified are specified. The note. Mixed marriages were fixed in books of two various confessions. The Jewish and Mohammedan books are known for the discrepancy. At dissenters acts of civil status were registered by police.

The register of births Represents set of chronological records about a birth, marriage and death under the established form. It is the register of acts of civil status.
By a documenting and storage principle share on parish and консисторские. In funds of spiritual consistories are: periodic погодовые extracts ("extracts") from parish registers of births, copies of some parish registers of births. The Konsistorsky copy including metric writing-books of a birth, marriage, death for one year on all arrivals of one district or a city, reached 1000-1200 sheets. The Prihodsky copy had other structure. It included records of births, marriages and death only one arrival for some years, depending on number of arrival. To 1840-50th the parish register of births included all kinds of registration, and later each kind of registration was conducted in the separate book. The volume of the parish register of births was about 200-250 sheets more often. Documents given out on a basis консисторского a copy had a full validity. Records in registers of births were made right after certificate fulfilment, and records about marriage were verified with обыскными books. For Jews there was a monthly and annual control of spiritual boards and annual - the municipal dumas verifying metric records. From the end of XIX century a duty to conduct registers of births about military men on regiments were assigned to military priests.
On the basis of records in registers of births birth certificates (выписи) stood out. Under the law registers of births were considered as the judicial proof: on them were verified the birth certificate at contest of authenticity of the last.
In the absence of registers of births or at doubtfulness of their records genealogical, city narrow-minded books, official lists were accepted to the birth proof and ревизские fairy tales (and also выписи from churches where born крещен), in addition they proved to be true indications of the witnesses, were at a christening исповедные lists.
In the absence of registers of births as proof of the marriage union in this case were accepted обыскные books, исповедные lists and such documents, as: certificates of class establishments, passports, judgements, i.e. the documents proving that the given persons were called as spouses. In special cases consequences of the spiritual power which interrogated причт, crowning the marriage, the witnesses who were at marriage and, in general, the persons knowing about reliability of marriage were spent.
In the absence of registers of births, the death fact also was proved by medical documents and a testimony.

The narrow-minded book (городовая) The document of the administrative and class account of urban population XVIII - the beginnings of XX centuries
City inhabitants according to "to the Reading and writing on the rights and exits of cities of the Russian empire" from April, 25th, 1785 were understood as all those who constantly there lived and had in a city the immovable property. Each city inhabitant registered in alphabetic order in the city narrow-minded book. In it were specified: a surname, a name, a patronymic, a rank, a rank, estate; the marital status - a name, a patronymic of the wife; children - a floor, names; a residence, service, a craft. The book consisted of six parts.
Data was brought in the first part about "the present policemen inhabitants" - those who owned the real estate in city boundaries irrespective of their class position.

In the fifth part - the eminent citizens distributed on seven categories: serving at elections in the city posts, received a rank sedate and again occupied certain posts; scientific, having academic and university certificates; artists, architects, painters, sculptors, the composers having the academic certificates; the capitalists who have declared the capital from 50 and more thousand, the bankers who have declared the capital from 100 to 200 thousand; wholesale dealers; кораблехозяева.
In the sixth part - посадские (old residents) of a city who are engaged in crafts, needlework and not belonging to one of previous categories.
Since 1846, according to new position about public management, the persons who are a part of a city society, were divided into five categories: the hereditary noblemen owning in capitals the immovable property; personal noblemen, honourable citizens and разночинцы (scientists, artists, actors and other persons who did not have neither personal nobility, nor honourable citizenship, but the equal rights having with them), owning such property; merchants of all three guilds; capital petty bourgeoises (not written down in цехи); capital handicraftsmen or the petty bourgeoises who have been written down in цехи for unlimited time. The nonresident persons who are engaged in capital in trade, crafts, crafts have been ranked as a city society.

The leave pass The document администртивного the account in which were formulated the purpose, for example, about holiday for theatrical activity under the contract, and were specified: a surname, a name, a patronymic of the released person, an age, sex, a residence, the characteristic of the person, data on parents: a surname, a name, a class accessory, a rank, a post. It was handed out by class and police establishments. Federal archives: personal funds. Regional archives: funds of six-public thoughts, petty-bourgeois justices, police administrations, personal funds.
The passport The document of the police account of the population with which help the identity of persons leaving from a permanent address, and also foreigners was proved. In it the surname, a name, a patronymic, an occupation, age, creed, a residence, a class accessory, signs of the person, and also a place of departure (travel), its duration and the purpose were designated. Members of a family were brought in the passport also.
In 1903 the Charter about passports "on which all living on a permanent address could live without passports has been published". At factories, factories, manufactories and mountain crafts on which action of rules about supervision of institutions of the factory industry all workers extended have been obliged to have passports. It was not necessary to receive passports when people left from a constant residence within the district or for it, but not further than on 50 versts and for the term of no more half a year.
Males to 17-year-old age, not consisting on public service, and a female to 21-year-old age could receive independent passports only with the consent of the parents and trustees in which passports they have been brought. From married women received passports only for what husbands were in unknown absence, in jails, the reference or suffered insanity. To members of country families, including full age, passports stood out and renewed only with the consent of the owner of a country court yard.
Served time in ispravitelno-prisoner branches, prisons and passport fortresses stood out with the permission of police, and in passports the mark about a previous conviction of their owners became.

The passport book Documents of the police account of the population XVII - the beginnings of XX centuries - travellers of the reading and writing, roadside sheets, passports, residence permits, etc. were fixed in special books. In them following data contained: a surname, a name, a patronymic, a rank, age, creed, the marital status - family structure. There are also other variants of passport books where such data is specified: house number, a surname, a name, a patronymic, a rank, whence has arrived, when the passport is given, in whose house lives, a kind on trade, craft, when and where has decreased. Perepisnye books The hand-written books containing summary data on quantity of the population of Russia XVII-XVIII centuries, have appeared in the middle of XVII century owing to transition from the general economic descriptions to the household. In XVII - the beginning of XVIII centuries they were made as at carrying out of total censuses тяглого the population (1646-48, 1676-78, 1710 and 1716), and private population censuses of separate areas or categories (for example, palace peasants). Perepisnye books of 20th and 40th of XVIII century reflect results подушной censuses. At the description of a draught court yard in переписные books of XVII century all man's population without dependence from its age and the relation to тяглу was brought. Perepisnye books of XVIII century contain the data and about the female population of court yard. A version переписных books - перечневые books (household) in which in detail all quantity of the earth which are in possession of the certain person was listed. In them males and any payments for each separate persons were specified.

Perepisnye sheets of the first general population census of 1897 Primary documents of census. The first copies переписных sheets went in Main переписную the commission, second copies remained in provincial земских justices, and the third - in volost boards.

The posemejnyj list (the family list) The document администртивного the population account. Made once посемейный the list was supplemented with the new information throughout many years and when entering new поправое became inconvenient, got the new. Therefore it is possible to find in funds of volost boards 3 - 4 посемейных the list.
The data card посемейного the list, printed in the typographical way, had following requisites: in column 1 family number one after another, in 2nd - family number on last ревизской to a fairy tale was designated. Columns 3 - 8 were filled with data on a man's part of a family. Column 3: a surname (or a nickname), a name and a patronymic of the head of the family, names of his sons, grandsons, brothers with the sons, living in common. Columns 4 - 6 showed age of men (year, month and birthday) - for January, 1st of current year. Data on were brought in column 7 in what year the member of a family, a name and age again born has died. Column 8 specified the receipt beginning in an active service, its termination, transfer in a stock etc. Column 9 specified names and patronymics of wives and names of daughters. Column 10 specified the facts of a marriage and death of women.

The application of parents The document containing the request for the admission to tests in a grammar school (school) of children, on their acceptance on training at public expense, about transfer in other educational institutions etc. Contained the data: a surname, a name, a patronymic of the applicant, its social status, a home address, a surname, a name of the child, its age. The application (petition) on resettlement Moved in the Ministries of Internal Affairs or госимуществ, переселенческие managements. In a full variant were specified: a surname, a name, a patronymic, a residence, the marital status, data on relatives, estate, a service place, a rank, data on property; in a short variant the surname, a name, a patronymic, a residence, estate, data on property contained only.  
Revizsky fairy tale The document ревизского the account податного the population. Existed with 1718 for 1858 (with 1st on 10th audit податного the population). In it all members of families or the separate persons living in certain territory were consistently listed. Revizsky fairy tales, as a rule, were made and moved in manors - landowners or their salesmen, in settlements of the state peasants - heads and other officials who are responsible for timely carrying out of audits, in cities - representatives of a municipal government.
To податным all rural inhabitants and till 1863 petty bourgeoises, shop and working in cities belonged to estates. Unit подушного taxation was ревизская the soul. At own will to податному to estate persons to whom the right to arrive on service was given were ranked or to select a life sort (children of officials, причетников). In structure податного estates were subject to obligatory inclusion the persons passed on audit, come back of runaways; persons at whom has expired term of a privilege of clearing from подушной taxes; the persons who have come back in податное estate (for example, the monks who have left the dignity).

It was made in volost board since 90th of XVIII century Contained data on peasants of each village: a surname, a name, a patronymic, a rank, an occupation, the marital status, family structure, a date of birth and christenings, age, whether it is competent and where has got education who has married and where it is married, marks about life on a confession and a participle who when has died or has passed from arrival.

The decision of spiritual court (report) on divorce The document of the account of a civil status. On it were applied: the application on divorce, the birth certificate on marriage, birth certificates about a birth of children.
On the basis of this document after divorce in registers of births, passports and other documents marks about change of the marital status of the given person became. Contained the following data: surnames, names, patronymics of spouses, their estate, a post, a rank, data on children (sex, age) a residence.

Genealogical books (provincial) The document of the class account of noblemen. The noblemen owning in province real estate, were subject to record in genealogical books of this province which were carried out only under petitions of these noblemen. Each nobleman, in particular not employee, should register in the genealogical book of that province where it had a constant residence. Thus noblemen proved the nobility on ancestors, but not having anywhere any real estate, were brought in the book of that province where their ancestors owned a manor. Received nobility on a rank or an award could be brought in the book of that province where they will wish, irrespective of presence at them there the real estate. The same rule extended and on foreign noblemen, but the last were brought in genealogical books only after preliminary about them representations to Department герольдии. Hereditary noblemen of the Cossack armies were brought: Armies of the Don Army in the genealogical book, and other armies - in genealogical books of those provinces and areas where there were these armies. At entering of noblemen of the Cossack armies into genealogical books their accessory to these armies was designated.
Personal noblemen were not brought in genealogical books. The genealogical book was divided into six parts. Nobility childbirth was brought in the first part жалованного or valid ""; in the second part - childbirth of nobility of the military man; in the third - childbirth of the nobility got on service civil, and also acquired right of hereditary nobility on an award; in the fourth - all foreign childbirth; in the fifth - the titled childbirth; in the sixth part - "ancient noble childbirth of noble family".
In practice in the first part the persons who have received nobility on an award, especially registered also if this award complained out of a usual office order. At legal equality of all noblemen irrespective of, in what part of the genealogical book they have been written down, record in the first part was considered as less honourable, than in the second and the third, and the three first parts all together - less honourable, than the fifth and the sixth. The childbirth which had the Russian titles of barons, counts, princes were brought in the fifth part and светлейших princes, and the barony остзейское meant an accessory to a family of great antiquity, the barony welcomed to the Russian sort - its initially not notable origin, employment by trade and the industry. The count title meant especially high position and special imperial favour, a sort eminence in XVIII - нач. XIX centuries so in other cases was even more honourable, than princely, not supported with high position of the carrier of this title.
The childbirth which nobility totaled century at the moment of the edition Zhalovannoj of the reading and writing were brought in the sixth part. Formally record in the sixth part of the genealogical book did not give any privileges, except one: sons of the noblemen who have been written down in the fifth and sixth parts of genealogical books were enlisted in the Pazhesky case, Aleksandrovsky (Tsarskoselsky) lycée and in jurisprudence school only.
Genealogical books were made in each province by deputy meeting together with the provincial leader of nobility. District leaders of nobility made alphabetic lists of sorts of the district of noble family with instructions on each nobleman of a name and a surname, data on marriage, the wife, children, the real estate, a residence, a rank, a finding on service or in resignation. These lists were represented signed by the district leader of nobility provincial. The deputy meeting was based on these lists at entering into the genealogical book of each sort, and the decision on such entering should be based on incontestable proofs.

Lists of recruits The document of the military account of the population. It was given in volost boards and in presence on a compulsory military service. Merchant children and not separated brothers, and also wives of merchants belonged to merchant class (have been written down on one certificate). Merchant widows and orphans kept this right, but without employment by trade. Merchant children who have reached majority should register again at branch in guild in the separate certificate or passed in petty bourgeoises. Not separated merchant children and brothers should be called not as merchants, and merchant sons etc. Transition from guild in guild and from merchants in petty bourgeoises was free. Transition of merchants from a city in a city was resolved under condition of absence of shortages on гильдейским and to city gathering and captures of the discharge certificate.

The note. Receipt of merchant children on public service (except children of merchants of 1st guild) was not authorised, if such right was not got by formation.

Official (attestative, послужной) the list The main document fixing office relations of the person.
On all officials of certain classes and posts special documents on service were got: official (XVIII century послужные) lists, and also private affairs. On employees who did not receive ranks and were registered on employees on hiring (copyists, couriers) official lists and private affairs were not got.
In the middle of XVIII century the majority of sheets with track records had no strictly established form. The most typical columns of sheets: 1. A surname, a name, a patronymic and age. 2. When has arrived on service. 3. Where served earlier and where has received the rank, when and under what decrees. 4. The size of the salary and under what decrees. 5. How many has male children, their age where study or serve. 6. How many has serfs of a male and in what districts.
In the track record of the official entered by the decree of the Senate of 1798, the next columns contained: "1. A rank, a name, a surname and a post it sent and how many from a sort of years; 2. From what rank occurs; 3. How many has in male possession of souls, people and peasants, in which districts and as names of settlements; 4. When in service has arrived and in this what ranks, in what posts and where occurred, whether also was what excellent acts on service and whether was especially, except ranks, than it is awarded and during what time (years, months, numbers); 5. In campaigns against the enemy and in battles was or not and when; 6. Whether was in penalties and under court and if was, for what when and than business has come to an end; 7. To continuation of civilian service it is capable and to increase than it is worthy or not and for what; 8. Whether was in resignation with rewarding of a rank or without this and when; 9. Whether it is married, whether has children, whom exactly, what years and where they are".
Since 1815 data on all received awards and awards, monetary gifts, pensions began to be brought in official lists, арендах and the earths. In 1827 3rd column containing data on manors has been expanded. In it it was specified, whether there is at the parents, the official, either his wife a patrimonial or acquired manor and in what province, and also whether there are factories, the factories, not occupied earths (quantity десятин), houses stone or wooden and they are in what city.
In 1849 the Inspection department had been developed the new form of the list for persons of civil department. In it were specified: a rank, a name, a patronymic, a surname of the official, its post, age, creed, the distinctions, the received maintenance, an origin, a property status, formation, an effective date on service and appointments to a post, awards, participation in campaigns and battles, collectings on service, time for circulation in holidays and resignation, the marital status (to whom it is married, who children and their age).
In 1905 of the count about the marital status has been added by data on an effective date of the official in marriage, dates of birth of the wife and children, their creed and with whom children live. Such form of the official list operated till 1917 the Official list was filled on the basis of original documents on a birth, an origin, formation and marriage.
Till 1846 official lists of all officials were represented to Department Geroldii, since 1847 - in Inspection department. Since 1858 conducting official lists and their storage have been assigned to establishments in which officials were on service. Official lists of the higher ranks occupying posts of first 4 classes, since May, 1894 were sent in Inspection department.
In office-work of military department the given document is called: official, послужной, кондуитный the list. In XVII century this kind of the document was called officer скаска (fairy tale).
The variant of a track record for the military man - a full track record - contains following data: a surname, a name, a patronymic, a date of birth, age, the birthplace, creed, the marital status, presence of children, estate, formation, a service place, a rank, a post, number of army division, the award, seizing, a previous conviction, data on health. Short track records in which not for all period of military service, and only for separate term in connection with the educational institution termination, moving after service, manufacture data were brought in a rank etc. were sometimes made
In office-work of naval department this kind of the document too carried different names. The track record data card in XVII - was hand-written first half XIX century and had no constant form and the name. It could be "скаска", "скаска послужная", "the attestative list", "the command list". The track record form also was various: it could be made on one person or on all structure of military unit as a seniority in a rank. From the middle of XIX century the track record data card began to be reproduced in the typographical way.

The petition The document which purpose was competition of certain privileges or donations. Zhalovannym reading and writing were preceded, as a rule, by petitions. In petitions the special attention was given to transfer of merits of the applicant, and also its relatives. In petitions, as a rule, were specified: a surname, a name, a patronymic, a residence, data on children, parents and other relatives, estate, a service place, a post, data on that, there was an applicant under court or not. In XVII-XX centuries instead of petitions other mass document - the application in which the same information, as in petitions contained appears and fixed.
