The address calendars existed from 60th of the XVIII century to 1917. These are lists of officials of various establishments who in 1765-1867 were published only by Academy of Sciences. In 1765-1767 they were called "The address calendar Russian for the summer... from Christmas, showing about all ranks and offices in the state who at the beginning of this year in what rank or in what position consists"; in 1768 - "A calendar, or the Menologion with a list of high-ranking persons in the state for the summer... from Christmas", with 1769 on 1804 - "The menologion with a list of high-ranking persons in the state for the summer... from Christmas". Subsequently, throughout the most part of the XIX century, this reference media was called the address calendar.
